Six years ago my long time partner popped the question, obviously he couldn't live without my charm!

We both wanted a quiet and intimate wedding with immediate family & friends and to make our day as sustainable as we possibly could. My dress & shoes were pre-loved, all the bunting was made from recycled fabrics & other decorations such as large paper flowers were also created using recycled materials. To keep our carbon footprint to a minimum we supported local suppliers for our buffet.

I have always loved being creative, even as a small child I would make gifts for family members & I loved to draw little designs for my dolls house, so it was no surprise when I studied Fine Art at university, albeit later in life after my second son was born.

After uni I worked as a Community Artist managing projects, curating & designing interactive events for people to experience. This gave me a real buzz and after curating my own wedding, I realised how combining the two with my ethics of sustainability would make a dream business where I could use my expertise to help couples with similar principles & so Vintage Florrie was born

 

Why Vintage Florrie? Florence was my Grandma's name, a strong woman, the pinnacle matriarch of the family who knew her own mind, delivered with a hint of sweetness. Regularly she would make tea & sandwiches when we visited.

Why East Midlands & Yorkshire? The East Midlands is close to my heart, having been born in Nottingham, living in its surrounding areas all my life it has the most beautiful scenery and national forests within close proximity. Yorkshire because I have family in and around Yorkshire so any excuse to visit! I try to keep within these areas to reduce my carbon footprint.
